While rhinos are the hardest to spot, the crater’s unique landscape makes it easier to see a variety of other wildlife. After lunch, we will continue with a game drive before ascending the crater and heading toward Lake Eyasi. There, you will unwind with a scenic canoeing experience as the sun sets over the lake.

The area around Lake Eyasi is home to the Hadzabe and Datoga communities, who have preserved their traditional ways of life—hunting and gathering for the Hadzabe and pastoralism for the Datoga. A visit to their villages offers an intimate glimpse into their daily lives. You may be welcomed into their homes, learn about their family structures, take part in traditional dances, create beadwork with the women, and even join the Hadzabe for an early morning hunting and gathering experience. You can also try your hand at crafting bows and arrows. In the early evening, we will drive back to Arusha for an overnight stay.
